School Premises Manager

£9.52 per hour – 5 hours per day, 52 weeks a year

Actual Salary: £12,373pa

Split Shift: 7am – 10am and 4.30pm – 6.30pm

Grade 2 Permanent position.

Start date – as soon as possible

St. Joseph's is an over-subscribed, Catholic, one-form entry primary school, in the south of Birmingham. We are looking to appoint a person to help look after our school by undertaking a range of duties to contribute to the security and day to day up keep of the school premises.

We are seeking an individual who:

  • lives within a short driving distance of the school
  • is self motivated, and able to work under pressure, using their initiative well
  • will take pride in the cleanliness and appearance of the school at all times
  • is able to identify and prioritise their work effectively and independently
  • is able to demonstrate competency in overseeing contractors
  • has good basic DIY, including painting and decorating
  • can carry out minor repair including carpentry, plumbing
  • is able to work well with others, especially children.

 Basic duties will include:

  • setting alarms and being the main key holder
  • opening and closing the school buildings
  • site security and maintenance
  • making sure that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
  • grounds maintenance work, repairs and painting/decorating
  • health and safety of the school site and its users

£9.15 per hour - 3 hours per day, 3.15pm – 6.15pm Actual Salary: £5,627pa 5 days per week, term time only  (plus two weeks in school holidays).   
 
St. Joseph's is an over-subscribed, Catholic, one-form entry primary school, in the south of Birmingham. We are looking to appoint a cleaner, to commence as soon as possible. They will be hardworking and committed to providing an excellent cleaning service. Previous experience is preferred but not essential.
