School Standards Committee (Governors)

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is part of the Lumen Christi Catholic Multi Academy which comprises of six local Catholic schools (seven primaries and one secondary):

The Lumen Christi Multi Academy is governed by a Board of Directors who have responsibility for all the schools and who delegate certain responsibilities to each school through their local Academy Committees.

The role of the School Standards Committee
The School Standards Committee focuses on the day-to-day operations of the school ensuring that it provides a good quality education for it’s pupils. Working in partnership with the Principal and other staff, the School Standard Committee are involved in:

  • Setting the school’s aims and policies
  • Improving standards of teaching and achievement
  • Setting the school’s budget plan and monitoring expenditure
  • Interviewing and appointing teachers and support staff
  • Acting as a link between the local community and the school
  • Dealing with complaints about the school
  • Drawing up an action plan after an inspection and monitoring the success of the plan
